We live surrounded by water and some of the best fishing in the world!
Bring the kids out to the Kids Learn to Fish Day and introduce them to sport fishing!
The Cowichan Fly Fishers' Association of Duncan, BC and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC will be hosting its 10th Annual Kids Learn to Fish Day on Saturday May 7th at Chemainus Lake Park.
Kids Learn to Fish Day is a free event providing a variety of activities that introduce children and their families to the sport of fishing and environmental awareness. Some of these include fun educational booths and activities that were developed by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and the Cowichan Fly Fishers Association. The children also have the opportunity to catch and keep a fish, generously supplied by the Trout Hatchery in Duncan. To complete the days’ experience each child is given a free lunch and a participation prize. The last few years we have had about 250 children, from 3 to 15, and their families come out, rain or shine, and enjoy this terrific event!
