Kids Celebrate! Saturdays will focus on specific celebrations or traditions. On September 29th, children can participate in Culture Days with the Sounds of Celebration theme – filling the gallery with noise using DIY instruments and an On Beat Bingo game. October 27th will feature our annual Haunted Coal mine and a spooky selfie station. November 10th is the fifth day of Diwali, the Hindu festival of light.
Children can try their hand at creating rangoli-inspired chalk art, colourful designs traditionally created at the front door during this festival. Admission to Kids Celebrate! Saturdays is by donation, and all activities are available from 11am - 3pm.
Kids Celebrate! runs from September 12 to November 24. The Nanaimo Museum is open 10am-5pm, Monday to Saturday.
The museum is located in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre.
