The Art of the Trio Series explores the infinite art of piano, bass and drums.  Concerts bring together regional, national and international jazz greats for one-of-a-kind concert experience - up close and intimate, showcasing the breadth, soul and swing of the trio in jazz.

A collaborator of Freddy Hubbard, Art Farmer, Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, jazz pianist Randy Porter possesses a refined understanding of improvisation and the spontaneous communication.  As a Steinway Artist, Randy Porter draws from a rich palette of sonorities found within his imagination and the depths of the piano.  A virtuoso performer and a magical accompanist, Randy has been one of the United States most respected performers performing at a truly international caliber over the last 25 yrs.  Porter has performed worldwide with many jazz greats, including Freddy Hubbard, Terrell Staford, Lee Konitz, Art Farmer, Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson and New York Voices. 

Tom Wakeling - For almost 40 years, Tom Wakeling has put his bass to work in major concert halls, leading jazz nightclubs, festivals, and recording studios throughout North America and Europe. Tom’s bass versatility has supported a wide range of artists including Arturo Sandoval, Lee Konitz, Mel Torme, James Moody, Herb Ellis, Mose Allison, Charlie Rouse, Houston Person, Ernie Watts, Charles McPherson, Carl Fontana, Herb Geller, Della Reese, Red Skelton, Rich Little, Mickey Rooney, the Fifth Dimension, and many others in jazz and pop music alike.  

Drummer/ composer Kelby MacNayr is quickly becoming one of the country's top young drummers.  Kelby has performed with many great jazz artists including Ingrid Jensen, Wynton Marsalis, Phil Dwyer and Ian McDougall.  Kelby performs regularly at festivals and for radio and television across Canada and the US.  His own Kelby MacNayr Quintet is a renowned working group of national and international jazz greats, releasing their much-anticipated debut recording early 2013.
