In February 2012, five of the West Coast�s leading jazz musicians came together for a two night, live-concert recording session before capacity audiences at Hermann�s Jazz Club in Victoria. The result is The Kelby MacNayr Quintet: The Measure of Light. Featuring nine MacNayr originals, the music was crafted specifically for these five musicians bringing together diverse musical influences. The Measure of Light unites some of the world�s best creative musicians, engineers and producers to create a truly exceptional album.

With the combined talents of MacNayr, legendary saxophonist & Juno Award winner Phil Dwyer, renowned trumpeter Daniel Lapp, brilliant pianist Miles Black & acclaimed American bassist Tom Wakeling, the musical alchemy ignited on the stage. The album captures this explosive spontaneity with studio-session sonic brilliance resulting from a unique post-production collaboration between MacNayr and pop-music icon and celebrated producer Gino Vannelli.

This artistically extraordinary and accessible album will be available when the Kelby MacNayr Quintet performs four concert dates in three of the West Coast�s most intimate listening rooms.
