Julia Wedman is one of Canada’s finest baroque violinists, best known for her performances with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, I Furiosi Baroque Ensemble and Eybler Quartet. Her 2011 debut CD of Biber’s Mystery Sonatas garnered rave reviews and a special mention in Gramophone Magazine as one of the best recordings of those pieces of all time.

Julia’s Bach CD Project will be the first recording of the Unaccompanied Sonatas & Partitas by Johann Sebastian Bach released by a Canadian violinist specializing in historical performances.

Work on these monumental pieces has been a 5 year project (labor of love!) for Julia. Due to changes in the music industry and lack of funding by recording labels, it is currently necessary to self-fund recording projects. With the large scope of this project, the costs will be approximately $40,000.00. CRA approved charitable donation receipts for donations over $20.00 are available on request. Your generous donation will be much appreciated.

In addition to a busy Tafelmusik schedule with major tours this season to France and the USA, Julia has been invited to lead the London, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment as guest concertmaster for their February 2019 tour to London, Moscow, Istanbul, Athens, Paris and Aix-en-Provence.
