Get an early start on the Twelve Days of Christmas! This oratorio is a set of cantatas written to mark the holy days between December 25th and Epiphany, telling the Nativity story from the birth of the Christ Child through the adoration of the shepherds and the visit of 3 kings bearing gifts.
Peter Butterfield conducts the performance of 4 cantatas in the series with 100 choristers, an orchestra that includes baroque specialists from Victoria and Vancouver, and six soloists: Jennifer Turner (soprano), Alana Hayes (alto), Carson Moore (countertenor), Felix Butterfield (tenor), Alex Chen (baritone) and, making his debut in the role of the story-telling Evangelist, tenor Graeme Linton.
This is a popular work, so advance tickets are recommended.
Doors will open by 7 pm, festival seating.
