Joy Anson, primarily a self-taught intuitive artist utilizes a strong sense of childlike primitivism in her collection of Sunflower paintings now showing at Eclectic Gallery. Anson is passionate about the brilliant colour in her Sunflower paintings “…colour excites and energizes me. It is an expression of joyous sensuousness."
Born in Derby, England, Joy has spent her adult life in British Columbia. Numerous solo exhibitions include Hollander York Gallery in Toronto, and Wallace Galleries in Calgary. Locally, Anson has shown at Avenue Gallery and Fran Willis Gallery in Victoria and galleries in Vancouver
