Preserving food, sharpening tools, mending clothing and building simple shelters were skills that were common two generations ago, but are at risk of being forgotten today. Revive these skills alongside others in a program series Journeys in ReSkilling: Food, Tools, Clothing and Shelter.
The series is designed in partnership with Living the New Economy and O.U.R. Ecovillage. Living the New Economy Food Waste If food waste was a country, it would be the third largest CO2 producer on the planet, after the U.S. and China, making food waste a serious global warming issue. Cinda Chavich author of Waste Not Want Not, Ann Baird of EcoSense Living, The Local Food Box founder and co-ordinator, Virginie Lavallée-Picard of Wind Whipped Farms and Brandy Gallagher our O.U.R. Ecovillage will come together to share their expertise on food preparation, preservation and planting so that we can all become food warriors and waste less food and less of the resources it takes to produce our food.
$35 per program / $120 for the series Other events in the ReSkilling Series include - Tools – March 9, 2016 Clothing – April 13, 2016 Shelter – May, 11, 2016
