Journey to the Promised Land. Healing Ourselves and Healing the World. How can we work through traumatic events and come out whole and healthy, ready to serve humanity? How do we climb out of those “dark nights of the soul” and make meaning out of what’s happened to us? Using her own life story as an example, Adrienne Carter will talk about how we can heal ourselves, and how spirituality can assist us greatly on this healing journey.
The principle is mirrored in the healing of the world from its trauma. Adrienne is a psychotherapist and long-time Bahá’í who has worked in the field of Mental Health for the past thirty years. Since obtaining her Master’s degree in Social Work from McGill University, she has worked in various places throughout Canada and also overseas with populations that were traumatized due to wars or natural disasters.
