Jive Community Big Band, with opening guest The Sidewinders. performs at Hermann's Jazz Club on November 24.
Jive is a fun community big band with a big diversity of music. The group is lead by trombonist Nick La Riviere, and this show will finish off their season of rehearsals. They'll be joined by The Sidewinders, a Victoria based jazz ensemble that perform songs in the bluesy, high-energy & hard-hitting "Hard Bop" style as developed in the late 50's and 60s by seminal recording artists such as Art Blakey, Horace Silver and many others.
This show is a fundraiser (by donation) for 'Our Place', so come on out and support a good cause!
