Top Canadian JUNO jazz sensations saxophonist/composer Christine Jensen and trumpet player Ingrid Jensen will be joined by multi JUNO award winning Qualicum, BC bassist Ken Lister, top Montreal saxophonist Joel Miller and gifted New York City drummer Jon Wikan in a special Nanaimo Conservatory of Music performance July 22nd 2015 at 7:30 pm at Simon Holt Restaurant!  These brilliant and beloved performers receive accolades wherever they go around the globe.

Orchestra bandleader and Montreal composer Christine Jensen’s Jazz Orchestra is a multi- JUNO winning band of highly acclaimed Montreal musicians. The orchestra has just finished touring North America for the jazz festival season. The Christine Jensen Jazz Orchestra features top New York City resident and Canadian trumpet soloist Ingrid Jensen. Concertgoers are impressed by the group interplay, magnificent solo features and the highest standards of musicianship.

Christine and Ingrid Jensen have been performing extensively and their master classes, clinics and workshops place them in high demand internationally around the globe. Top critic Mark Miller of the Globe and Mail refers to Christine Jensen as, "one of Canada's most compelling composers", while Christine's sister Ingrid Jensen has performed with a who's who of the jazz world. New York jazz star Ingrid Jensen has performed with the Grammy winning group the Maria Schneider Orchestra, Mulgrew Miller,the IJQ with Geoffery Keezer, and Terri-Lyne Carrington's Mosaic Project with Esperanza Spalding and many other New York bands. Sisters Ingrid and Christine Jensen have roots on Vancouver Island where they grew up and studied music in the town of Nanaimo. Now international artists of global acclaim, both the Jensen sisters excel in all their endeavours.
