Jazz Trumpeter Brad Turner in Concert at VIU

Vancouver based jazz trumpeter Brad Turner will present a concert as a guest of the Music Department, accompanied by Ken Lister, bass; Hans Verhoeven, Drums; and Ian Sinclair, piano.
Turner’s phenomenal talents as a trumpeter, pianist, drummer and composer make him one of Canada’s most in-demand and highly esteemed musicians.
He has released six albums, five as a trumpeter with his quartet, the most being the ‘07 release Small Wonder, which was nominated for a Juno in the Traditional Jazz Album category. Turner’s groups have opened for McCoy Tyner, Roy Hayes, Wayne Shorter, Clark Terry, Diana Krall, Ahmad Jamal and Tony Bennett. Turner will also present a workshop to students and others interested at 1 pm Wednesday, April 1 in the Choral Room.
