Jane Coop in Solo Piano Concert

The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music's annual fundraising event brings internationally celebrated pianist Jane Coop to the Port Theatre for a Solo Piano Concert. Ms. Coop beguiled her Nanaimo audience in 2014 and is returning with a delightful program featuring selections from Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel, Debussy and Haydn. Order of Canada and Order of B.C. recipient, Ms. Coop has performed in over 20 countries and across Canada. At age 19 she won first prize in the CBC National Radio Competition and first prize in the Washington International Competition, launching her career. Ms. Coop has had a remarkable recording career with over 19 Cds some of which will be available for sale and signing at the concert. Her commitment to teaching is centred around her long time position at the University of British Columbia's School of Music in Vancouver where she is a senior professor and Head of the Piano Division. Ms. Coop will be giving a Master Class on Saturday April 20th from 2-4 pm at the Nanaimo Conservatory.
