Silent Auction - Sept 16-Sept 30 free from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. & Live Auction doors open at 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 30

The Silent Auction is a major fundraising event for the James Bay New Horizons Centre; at least 1000 people will circulate through our halls where everything will be displayed for a two week period ending with a live auction evening with appetizers, desserts, tea/coffee and a cash bar.

This is the major fundraiser for the centre as JBNH is a non-profit centre with approximately 550 members consisting of mainly seniors. The proceeds from our auction helps offset the cost of operating several programs including our "Seniors Reassurance Program". In 2006, JBNH was asked to run this program by the Victoria Police Department and the centre has been operating it ever since. The value of this program is to ensure that seniors living on their own are contacted once a day to ensure that they are okay and healthy. In some cases this may be the only human contact these people have during the day. We have clients from all over Greater Victoria enrolled in this free program.
