The Story of Island

Paul and Jerome come from a musical heritage starting in Ontario as members of the Perth County Conspiracy in the mid-70s. Paul moved to Gabriola in 1976, and invited Jerome and David Woodhead to come and form the band Island. Island played and toured all over BC during the late 70s, headlined many major BC music festivals of the time, and recorded a collection of original tunes called Island Celebration, as well as some live recordings at various concerts and festivals.

Island plays mostly original music by Paul, with some of Jerome�s and a few covers they love, definitely danceable, in an old-time �boogie� kinda way. They bring back music from their days together in the 70s, and update them with a slew of new songs, same same but different. There will be opportunity to sing along, to dance, to listen and to celebrate summer! Their songs cover a variety of styles, all infused with a generous helping of soul.
