An Irish Concertina is similar to a mini button accordion and is often used to play fast toe-tappin' Celtic/Irish Dance music.
The beginners at 3:15 on alternate Sundays will learn the finger placements and simple Irish tunes.
For ages 14 - 99. You are never too old to have fun learning the Irish Concertina!
Dust off your 30-button or 20-button Irish-Anglo concertina join us on Sundays for this new Irish Concertina Club session. We recommend the 30 or 20-button Irish-Anglo concetinas in C/G tuning. Please be sure your concertina is not an English concertina because those have completely different fingerings and note location.
If you need to rent or borrow an Irish-Anglo Concertina, please phone 250 - 245 - 5778.
The Cedar Heritage Centre is located in South Nanaimo at 1644 MacMillan Road, directly off Cedar Road, near Freisen's Hardware Store. The Heritage Centre is a public space and all public health orders will be followed.
Toe-tappin' Irish music is well-known to cure anxiety and loneliness. Build your confidence and community and try this lively instrument. There is no requirement to be of Irish heritage! Irish concertina fans are known to live all around the world.
Please phone or email so we do not exceed the room rental capacity.
