This is a public meeting launching the Island Community Solar Co-op. Everyone with an interest in clean energy and solar power is encouraged to join us!

Last summer, a community meeting on the subject of solar power was held in Nanaimo and drew over 130 participants. They were polled and indicated that they wanted a solar power co-op to give them a venue to support green/solar energy, learn more about photovoltaics, and offer them opportunities to invest in solar in their communities.

The Island Community Solar Co-op being launched is the outcome of intensive volunteer efforts by members of the non-profit Energy Solutions for Vancouver Island who followed up on that idea after the initial meeting. Elisabeth May, who was one of Canada’s delegates at the UN Convention on Climate Change in Paris, and Michael Geldreich of Power To The People will be our guest speakers.
