Nanaimo's historic No. 2 Firehall is getting a new creative lease on life! The ground level at #5 Victoria Rd (under the Firehouse Grill) has been restored and will open its doors Monday Jan 6 as Iron Oxide Art Supplies. This is the sister store to House of Indigo Boutique which has been growing an art supply section for a couple of years now and has outgrown the current location. This new expanded art supply and bead store will feature a dedicated workshop area, with classes starting Jan 12th.

Owner Willow Friday invites you to join in an evening of art and music on Friday Jan. 10th from 7-10pm to celebrate the new business and to share this creative space. The night will feature a group art show with artists from our community who have been given the task to create art with the theme of rust. A twist on the new stores name! Come check out metal sculptures, water colors, mixed media and more. Watch for a new art opening every month featuring either a group show or solo artists.
