Intro to Gelli Printing


An introduction to the magical and somewhat addictive world of gelli printing, where you will learn how to make mono prints with a Gelli Plate to use in card-making, collage and more.


In this 2.5-hour class, Cindy will provide an overview on:


Types of paints


Tools to add textures and shapes


Types of paper


Creating layers


Cindy will also be teaching an Intro to Collage workshop for us two weeks after this class on Wednesday, July 23rd, from 1pm-3:30pm, where you will learn how to incorporate your new mono prints into collage designs! Sign up for one or both as you wish!


SUPPLY LIST


Please let us know upon registration whether you have your own gelli plate & brayer that you can bring to use in class. Optional – favourite acrylic paints and papers


ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR


Cindy McMath has been doing something creative for as long as she can remember – everything from stained glass to bad knitting. These days, Cindy is passionate about colour, paper and paint, creating mixed media works in addition to her abstract painting practice. Cindy’s mixed media pieces have been featured in various publications such as Somerset Studio and her paintings hang in private collections in the US, Canada and the UK. Cindy is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Arts and Culture Colwood Society, the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society, and is the member of the Art Rental and Sales Program through the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Cindy frequently shows her work in juried and non-juried shows throughout the Greater Victoria area as well as the Federation Gallery in Vancouver.


CLASS LOCATION This workshop series is hosted by the Arts & Culture Colwood Society in a bright & modern gallery space that looks out to the Esquimalt Lagoon and the Colwood Waterfront beyond, where you will be surrounded by beautiful artwork from our current exhibitions.
