Pull on your gum boots and come out with the Museum to explore the fascinating world of the intertidal zone at the Willow Point reef.
Join the Museum of Campbell River and biologist Sandra Milligan for this family-friendly afternoon of exploration. The walk will look closely at dozens of animals and algae, from crabs and chitons, to gastropods and nudibranchs. Put your observational skills to work to find all sorts of beautiful and unusual creatures, and learn about the amazing strategies that have developed to live in this challenging environment.
Registration is at the Museum for the Intertidal Walks on Monday May 9th and Saturday June 4th. Participants need to be able to walk about 1 km, some of which is in ankle-deep water and on uneven surfaces.
Meet at the parking lot on Highway 19A at Larwood Rd at 1pm on May 9th and 11am on June 4th. Leave 5 minutes to park and walk; please respect the business parking at Larwood Plaza.
