Our Opening Night, a 'Walk-In' event, offers a limited audience, live music and performance, as well as possibilities for moving your body in fun, distanced interactions. It takes place outside on the lawn of a local Centre, a non-profit charity, that will also benefit from ticket sales along with Crimson Coast. Bring a chair or blanket, jacket and water. There are no concession sales.

Body Talk HiP HoP PoW WoW, an inspirational show celebrating culture, youth and artistry. Feature performers, Sirreal (Nanaimo), Ecko Aleck (Nlaka’pamux Nation), raised shishalh Nation, and AJ Megaman (Congo/Nanaimo), rap and dance it out from across the stage!

Huulth-huultha 2020 “Dancing” in Wakashan language, Nuu-chah-nulth. A short film, conceived and directed by Tsatassaya White, edited by Dustin Anderson, exploring a virtual Indigenous dance festival in these challenging times featuring Indigenous song, dance & protocol.

The African Village Experience! Exciting music, tribal dancing, sounds of joy and bright colors are the main ingredients in this performance that showcases rhythms, songs and dances from West, Central and Southern Africa. In this village performance, Cameroonian dancer Jacky Essombe, Beninese percussionist Yoro Noukoussi and Zimbabwean singer-musician Kurai Mubaiwa will transport you to the heart of their beloved culture. In the true tradition of Africa, music and dance are an extension of everyday life and are accessible to everyone. Community members in Africa are encouraged to sing and dance together from an early age in order to strengthen their trust and relationship to one another.

On opening night, everybody will experience a deep sense of belonging, shared joy and unity, and we will all leave with our heart beating faster with joy and excitement.

Closing Drum Circle Let the shared rhythm of the beat diminish the space between us. Bring you're drum. Dave McGrath and Esther Moncrief will lead this annual circle.
