Crimson Coast Dance Society presents Nested: Lean and Rise as part of our 22nd annual InFrinGinG Festival!

Nested: Lean and Rise is a short, live performance for a very small audience. It takes place outside at local surprise setting. We are grateful to our private venue hosts. Please arrive early to find parking and walk-in safely distanced. Bring a chair or blanket and your own water.

Original idea sparked through a Choreography Walk course with Donna Redlick and the support of the group (Avis, Denise, Harmany, Jen, Lisa)

From a place within,
leaning on our self and each other for support,
we can rise out of adversity and grow
through the threads we weave in resonance as a community.

Celebrating the space and beauty of Vancouver Island
that allowed me to nest, lean and rise back again
comes a Butoh inspired performance,
knitting
our stories
mending
our memories
row after row
nested
in between the stiches

Take a journey along the strands,
melting all pain
in the cradle of the weft

Please bring a knitted, crocheted or embroidered fabric you made (approx 12x12 inches) that you will attach after the presentation and leave on the knitted path installation to be used for the performance.

Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. Due to Covid restrictions, locations will be announced the day of the event to registrants only. PLEASE wear your mask, bring your own water and blanket or chair, stay safely distanced!

Because the health and safety of our community is our highest priority we have strict and specific, VIHA approved, guidelines for attendance for each event. These guidelines are based on Phase 2 level interactions. We ask your good faith in abiding by them to ensure our festival is able to operate through its completion. You will be asked to complete contact information as part of completing your ticket purchase. Tickets are limited on a range of 20 to 40 per show. They must be purchased in advance. Locations of events will be provided to you the day of the show - Corona Rave style - this is to ensure there are no walk ups as total numbers at each event must be accounted for.
