The festival features dance infused with cultures from around the globe and close to home, including Traditional Song & Dance by Snuneymuxw Dancers, Co.Erasga with there exploring of Asian & Canadian Culture, to a Flashmob & a Splashmob.

InFrinGinG truly presents a diverse look at the world of dance! There are three feature, ticketed performances.

Opening the festival is a celebration of First Nations Dance featuring Snuneymuxw dancers and a Body Of Water Residency Performance, the  second show of the evening is titled "Articles Of The Feminine" by Samatha Letourneau, Holly Bright & Lee Su-Feh.

On July, 8th A "Sacred Cacao Ceremony & Ecstatic Dance Workshop" by Melissa Nobels will open up your heart in amazing ways. That night will two offers a beautiful choreographed project aimed at opening up the civic and artistic reflection on migration; with Lee Su-Feh's "The Things I Carry, to a free workshop of african style drumming with VooDoo Dave.

The final ticketed feature, July 9, highlights into a Double Feature with Co.Erasga with Alvin Tolentino & Pichet Klunchun whuch reflects on the Thai Classical Style of Khon, combining this ancient style with into theatre and storytelling. Another performance, alonside Co.Erasga, is a HiP HoP PoW WoW with Angela Miracle Gladue, DJ All Good, & Wass Wuttunee creating a process with teens as they explored, created, learned, and shared ideas, stories, fun, and friendship together.

On July 5, 6:30pm, a roundtable focuses on raising awareness for competent care for the queer community and elders at HarbourFront Library, July 5. A multitude of FREE shows run at V.I.C.C. & Maffeo Sutton Park - A African Drumming class, Egyptian bellydance, Co.Erasga will be performing "Dialogue:Culture As Commodity", There will be a Flashmob, A Splashmob, Belly dancing, Prayer and Temple Dancing, Dances by Alert Bay Kawakwaka'wakw First nations, Nanaimo International Jazz Festival, Willie Thrasher, Elvis, Carnation Ceremony, Temple Dance Fusion Workshops, Samba & Reggae Workshop, Sharing dance Canada Workshop by The Canada National ballet! Wow!

Check out our Dance Museum tent to see what inspires the artists. The festival offers a chance for everyone to explore the joy of movement, no matter their level of experience. Ticketed shows will be held at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, The White Room, and Maffeo Sutton Park and cost $20 - $25 with a festival pass avaliable online.

Festival hotspot, The Nanaimo Bar, will be happening on Friday, July 7th & Saturday July 8th, from 6:00-7:00pm. They will offer a refreshing stop and discount with ticket or stub to festival attendees to gather before, between or after shows and talk dance with like-minded people.
