For the first time two iconic Nanaimo festivals join forces to create a bigger, better and shared experience for Nanaimo dragon boaters and dance lovers.

Expect to see high calibre, professional dance on the stages throughout the weekend of boat races and dedications. Together we celebrate life, support fund raising for breast cancer research and collaborate to create a memorable weekend for everyone. Events take place at Maffeo Sutton Park�s out door stages and the Nanaimo Conference Centre.

Crimson Coast Dance Society �s 13th annual InFrinGinG Dance Festival, Dancing In The Belly Of The Dragon, features:

*traditional cultural dances from India, Spain, Brazil, Quebec, local Metis jiggers and First Nations dance which features

*local Snuneymuxw Dance Group and Le La La Dancers (Kwakwaka�wakw).

Most performances will take place on the outdoor stages as will the classes and workshops.

All performances and artist talks are offered to the community at no charge except our opening and closing shows which are ticketed and VooDooDave�s show and drumming/dance circle at VI Conference Centre on Saturday night.

Workshops, also offered on the public stages, can be decided and paid for on site.

Opening the InFrinGinG Dance festival is a celebration of First Nations Dance, $10.00. The closing night event includes dinner for $25 and features Francophone folk dance company, Zogma, with public dancing to follow.
