Join us at Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum on Thursday, May 11th at 7:30 for our in-person lecture “In Pursuit of Beauty: Interior Decoration of the 1860s-with Stuart Stark.”
As the Ross Bay Villa volunteers rejoice over the arrival of the new reproduction carpet for the restored Dining Room, Stuart Stark, award winning heritage consultant and one of the original saviors and planners of the Villa restoration, will present an overview of 1860s interiors in Victoria.
Wallpaper, picture hanging, curtains, furniture and carpets – where did the designs come from? How did the styles of decoration influence the people who lived in the exquisitely furnished rooms of Ross Bay Villa?
Seating for this in-person lecture is limited and you need to purchase a ticket in advance. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at https://tinyurl.com/yc7bj6u4.
All proceeds support Ross Bay Villa, a volunteer-run and owned 1865 historic house museum located in Fairfield across from Ross Bay Cemetery.
