The Hwa Kang Dance Troupe from Taiwan will visit Courtenay on Friday May 1, the performance will be held at Florence Filberg Centre Conference Hall at 7 pm.
The Hwa Kang Dance Troupe, an internationally renowned dance troupe from the Chinese Culture University of Taiwan, was founded in 1967 under the sponsorship or the University of Chinese Culture.
Members of troupe are mostly students and alumni of the Dance Department of the University, the troupe performing in North America, Europe, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Egypt...
The troupe will visiting Vancouver, Saskatoon, Courtenay, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angles and Honolulu this time, Courtenay is the only stop on Vancouver Island. The troup has 24 dancers, professor Wu Man Li will be the troupe's leader during the trip.
Tickets are available at Laughing Oyster Bookstore, Blue Heron Boos, Bop City Records or at the door, $15 / adult and $10 / youth (age 12 and under).
