Ibadat-e-Mehfil: A Sufi Music Night

Society For Indian Classical Arts (SICA), a student club at the University of Victoria is presenting "Ibadat-e-Mehfil", a Sufi Music Night by Nitin Suraan and Party of Swar Taal Music Society of Edmonton. Singing since the age of 9, Nitin got his classical music training from many greats such as Pt. Jawahar Lal Sharma and principal Shamsher Singh Karir. Currently Nitin is under the tutelage of Ustad Naqqi Ali Khan (who is Bade Ghulam Ali's grandson - a huge icon in classical music). Nitin and his crew truly embody the spirit of Sufi music, with strong command over the poetry of many Saints: Bulleh Shah, Sultan Bahoo, Shahbaz Qalandar and many more.
