Hydroid biodiversity in the Northeast Pacific: taxonomic perspectives and challenges
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Victoria Natural History Society Hydroids are mostly marine, often colonial, gelatinous animals related to corals, anemones, and jellyfish. They come in many different forms but these colonies are just one stage in their complex life cycle. Dr. Henry Choong, Curator of Invertebrate Zoology, Royal BC Museum, specializes in the taxonomy of hydroids. His talk is an overview of hydroid diversity in the Northeast Pacific and highlights his most recent work on the biogeography and long-distance dispersal of hydroids.
