Friday, October 27th, 2017
7:00 PM to 9:30 PM

During her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen young girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits - Miyazaki says he "..made the film specifically for 10-year-old girls. That is why it plays so powerfully for adult viewers. Movies made for "everybody" are actually made for nobody in particular.." Japan 2001, animated, in English, rated PG

The proceeds from this screening will go to support the Koksilah Watershed Project! Bring a friend and come early, doors open at 6:30 and so does our concession with hot buttered popcorn! See you at the movies!

Join the HUB Film Club! Memberships now on sale for the 2017/18 HUB Film Club year which started May 1st and continues through until April 2018.

The HUB Film Club is a new community cinema here at the HUB in Cowichan Station. Started in May of 2016, our aim is to bring people of all ages together over good films and of course, popcorn!

The Hub Film Club screens a film on the fourth Friday of every month all the year ’round and we invite you to be a part of it, in fact it can’t exist without you! Annual membership is just $25 per person (18 years and older). Age 18 and under – admission is by donation with a club member. (This is a only a suggestion, young people are very welcome to become members but there will be some R rated films during the year.) Once you have become a member all films are free! We show an eclectic program of film; both classic and new, Canadian and international, for families and for adults. We have access to new theatrical releases approximately 4 months after their 1st run in professional theatres!

You can become a club member at the door at any film night (cash or cheque accepted) or pay on-line by contacting Melanie Watson at [email protected] or on Facebook @HUB Film Club.

All proceeds support the HUB community centre at Cowichan Station.

**Films start at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30). If you are planning on coming to see a film, remember to bring a cushion to put on your seat for movie-watching comfort! Stop the presses – we have new comfier seats!! Or bring your own couch!**
