The Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station #34 – Cowichan is a non-profit organization made up of local community members who volunteer their time and efforts towards the safety of all boaters who use Maple Bay, Sansum Narrows, Cowichan Bay, Mill Bay, the Saanich Inlet and connected waterways.
As members of RCM-SAR we carry pagers 24/7 and are tasked out on various missions such as natural disasters, sinking boats, towing boats with engine failure, disoriented vessels, night marine/missing person searches, boat fires, floatplane emergencies, medical emergencies, etc...
The RCMSAR34 Marine Rescue Society is the registered charitable society responsible for the fundraising of RCMSAR34.
Our annual operating costs are $45,000 of which we will need to fundraise 25%. Capital Projects like our Boathouse lift and Boathouse upgrades will need fundraising for at least 50%. Currently our 15 year old boatlift is in need of replacement.
