A glimpse into classical music's movement from Old World to New World through the voices and compositions of ancestors and immigrants. Featuring John Alac - classical guitar, with Nicholas Fairbank - pipe organ, and Orthodox Voices - a cappella. John Alac's program focuses on Czechoslovakian guitar music from the Baroque and Romantic periods, to 20th century Czech-Slovak-Canadian composers. Nicholas Fairbank's program on the restored Casavant opus 400 pipe organ ranges from JS Bach to one of his own contemporary compositions, and Orthodox Voices traces the roots of the mysterious hymnody of the Eastern Orthodox Church. A fundraiser for All Saints of Alaska Orthodox Church in Victoria, BC.
