Join us at Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum for our summer tour program on Saturdays at 1PM.
Tour the replicated heritage ornamental and vegetable gardens and learn about the Roscoe family, their myriad connections in Victoria and England and Frances Roscoe’s political career, which culminated with his election to Parliament in 1874. Your tour guides will describe the garden plantings, the architecture of the house and its significance, the geography of the area and will speak about the local First Nations who utilized the local flora and fauna, as well as the adjacent waterways for transportation. The tour will also feature archeological displays of items discovered during restoration of the house and garden. Our museum is entirely volunteer run and owned by the Ross Bay Villa Society and all proceeds go to the restoration and maintenance of this 1865 historic site.
Each tour is limited to a maximum of 6 persons due to current Covid-19 restrictions. For the same reason, the interior of the house will not be included in the tour at this time. A modified exterior configuration of the Ross Bay Villa gift shop will be open. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance at https://www.universe.com/events/heritage-tour-in-the-ross-bay-villa-historic-house-museum-garden-tickets-F26BX4?ref=universe-discover&fbclid=IwAR3wqECIjrVitmr_ksutfPBl4yC22chxH_Ud-j0H_jD2cBP_CdP2sHsxbhs
