Hashim Hannoon: City Life Opening Reception
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Hashim Hannoon is a master of shape and colour, and it is this combination of elements that makes his work so exciting. Central to his work are the vibrant splashes of colour thoughtfully placed throughout Hannoon's paintings. Through his use of colour, Hannoon shows an understanding of previous modernist movements and draws inspiration from the works of Paul Klee. Having experienced first hand the effects of war on people and cities, this Iraqi born artist aims to lend viewers a sense of comfort and joy through the dynamic scenes he creates. His exhibition City Life succeeds in this endeavour and captures the energy and liveliness of the city. Immigrating to Canada in 2009, Hannoon is currently residing in Vancouver, BC, where the city continues to be a source of inspiration for him. His work is held in a number of prominent collections and he has achieved international recognition. City Life will be showing at Madrona Gallery from June 8 - 21st.
Please join us for our opening reception on June 8th from 1-4 pm at 606 View Street. The artist will be in attendance. All works are subject to presale.
