The Creative Peace Mural Society and Christ Church Anglican Cathedral announce a unique and inspiring exhibition, entitled �Hands Around The World,� coming to Victoria, BC.
The Creative Peace Mural Society promotes international understanding through the creation of textile murals that represent local culture, history and geography. Each is a local art project that draws upon values and themes important to that community.
Since the millennium, the Society has worked on eleven textile murals with communities in Canada, China, Coast Salish Nation, Japan, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Switzerland, Uganda, Ukraine and Uruguay.
Now, all eleven murals are coming to be on public exhibition together for the first time in North America. These large art works are each at least 5 metres wide by 2 metres high, and will find a fitting home in the monumental vaulted Gothic interior of Christ Church Cathedral.
