Join the Guardians of Mary Lake to hear the voices of support for the future “Mary Lake Nature Park” A new sanctuary protecting a watershed, pristine forest and many species, while creating a new link for a 25 km hiking trail loop.  This property has been under conservancy ownership since 1947 - That's 70 years of nature working her magic. 12 pm:

Gates Open 1 pm: Festivities kick off 3 - 5 pm: “Spirit of Nature Walks” – on streamside trails “Why Mary Lake?” - Informative slide show in house Festivities begin with the “THE VANCOUVER ISLAND CALEDONIA PIPE BAND”

Speakers include: Tom Sampson – Tsartlip elder, Elizabeth May - Federal Green Party Leader Ken Williams - Highlands Mayor, Jill Robinson - Habitat Acquisition Trust Lisa Helps – Mayor of Victoria, Frances Litman - Creatively United for the Planet Alistair MacGregor - Federal NDP MP, Vancity – Community Real Estate Dept. Yummy food truck on site - Coast Lunch Box

Please Car Pool Limited parking on road near site with some additional parking at Highlands Community Hall 729 Finlayson Arm Rd (5 min. walk) $3 Bus Shuttle from Western Speedway at 11:30 am, Noon, 12:30 pm (Includes parking, purchase with ticket to reserve)
