Knox Presents......The Greater Victoria Police Chorus
Choral Music at its Best! Come hear familiar tunes from today and yesteryear!
Founded in 1984, this choir is one of only a few police chorus' in Western Canada. It is comprised of 40 serving, retired and reserve police officers, plus some non-police performing members, all proud to be serving their community in this unique way. Members of the Chorus are all united through their love of music, and have built relationships that are both professionally and personally satisfying. The Chorus has toured parts of Europe on four different occasions, and has sung in historic cathedrals in the Netherlands, Wales and England. They were the hosts of the first International Police Music Festival in Victoria in 1993, and again in 2000. The Chorus regularly performs in a variety of venues and has proudly raised funds which have been donated back to various organizations for which they performed.
Their performances are lively and entertaining and their repertoire is extensive, including Swing, Country, Gospel, Broadway music and more! Concerts often feature such favourites as Chattanooga, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Sweet Caroline, Old Time Rock & Roll, Let There Be Peace, O Shenandoah and In the Mood. There is something for everyone so don't miss this concert!
