“The Great Winter Warm Up” !!!
Mennonite Central Committee, a world wide ministry of Anabaptist churches, sharing God’s love and compassion for all, in the name of Christ, by responding to basic human needs and by working for peace and justice. The Harmony Hearts ladies of the Black Creek church gather together every Friday morning to put together comforters to be distributed through MCC.
The need is great !! Blankets are sent out to needy people around the world and also to those here at home.
We are inviting anyone who is interested, to join us Saturday February 22nd for a one day “Blitz” knotting / tying, and completing blankets to be sent out . It’s being dubbed around North America as “The Great Winter Warm Up”. All are welcome to join us. No experience or supplies are required and lunch will be provided. Come for an hour, come for the day, come for lunch !!!!! We also welcome any monetary donations or donations of fabric. Handmade blankets not only provide warmth, but also a tangible reminder to people in vulnerable situations that their needs are not forgotten.
