Gleaning is Starting!

Become a gleaner for 2015!
 Volunteer gleaners must be willing to attend one brief orientation and safety session, and join as a member of the Nanaimo Community Gardens Society and Nanaimo Foodshare Society. Once registered, gleaners will be assigned to Pick Teams and invited on organized picks throughout the season. Orientations are about 45 minutes in length. We will meet in the gazebo at the Pine St Community Garden located behind the Foodshare Centre at 271 Pine St. Children are welcome to play in the garden while you attend. Dogs must be leashed. Orientations have been scheduled for the following 5 dates in 2015:

-Wednesday June 17, 2015 at 2pm
 -Saturday June 21, 2015 at 11am

Be sure to bring your membership fee (sliding scale $10-$25) and family and friends if they might want to pick with you occasionally. The earlier you sign up, the better your chances of attending an early pick, such as a cherry pick.
