Join us for an evening all about the reciprocal power of giving and receiving. It's about your community, people!
When you give your time in support of an event or organization, you get the chance to step outside of your daily routine while expanding your professional and social networks. In a world where we increasingly connect online and support-by-clicking, sitting on a community board is a hands-on challenge to make a real difference where you live. It's also a great way to learn effective management tools and techniques to apply to your workplace, and demonstrate your added value to an employer or clients.
This fast-paced, high energy workshop will provide both new and experienced board members with tools, ideas and a refreshed perspective on the art of governance. Topics will include board roles and responsibilities, strategic planning, visioning and board development, policy development, recruitment and retention, conflict of interest, running meetings and staying on track, community relations and an examination of how our board work links with broader efforts to re-engage democracy and community.
Space is limited, so RSVP now to [email protected] to book your place!
Location: The coffee shop in Tin Town
Professional development events are free to all YPCV members; The fee for non-members for this value packed event is $20. Space is limited so RSVP early to reserve your place. Please arrive early to pay (if a non-member) and get settled, as we will be starting the workshop promptly.
