Genealogy Seminar - Finding Family: From the paper to the science (The annual seminar hosted by the Victoria Genealogical Society).
Join us for another day packed with genealogical learning! Whether you’re brand new to genealogy or have been researching for years, our speakers bring a wealth of experience and information to help you in your search.
Our first sessions will cover the three main types of records, birth, marriage and death, and will challenge participants to consider the vast range of information generated by governments, church, communities and families that extend beyond the tombstone data. The final presentation will be on the ever-popular topic of DNA in genealogy research and will cover the newest initiatives in genetic testing, how to decide on your first or next DNA test, who to test, and how to understand your results.
We look forward to presenting a day that will help you bring together the paper and the science to expand your family tree.
