Genealogy by Zoom - POSTCARDS, POSTAL HISTORY AND FAMILY HISTORY
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Join us for another in our series of genealogy workshops using Zoom. Diane Rogers
will present her workshop titled: POSTCARDS, POSTAL HISTORY AND FAMILY HISTORY. This event is hosted by the Victoria Genealogical Society.
Workshop synopsis:
From 1900 on, with speedy postal service, postcard messages were like chats today, reminding sons to come to dinner on time, daughters to write home, or friends to come for a visit and "see our new town hall on the front of this card."
If you have family postcards, or can locate a few, they likely provide evidence of social and family connections, and travel. Even if you don’t, join us to learn how you can find postcards to illustrate and enhance your family stories!
