The City of Parksville, in partnership with a consulting team from Vancouver Island University, is wellunderway to developing a long-term master plan for the Parksville Community Park, the jewel of Parksville.

VIU students will host Gazebo Talks on Thursday, June 8 from 2 pm to 7 pm. Students will be located at the waterfront gazebo in the Community Park to chat with park users.

Gazebo Talks is another community engagement opportunity for VIU students to present some of their work completed to date and to continue to seek input from residents and park visitors to identify goals and priorities for the future of the Community Park.

The Community Park Master Plan is a document which will provide direction for development of the Community Park over a twenty-year time frame. Information gathered during the “Gazebo Talks,” as well as the result from a variety of public engagement activities, will be presented to Parksville Council in the fall.
