Garden Lecture, The New Wild Garden

Join Louise Boutin for an illustrated talk on the low maintenance, unpretentious garden style celebrated in Anna Wintour’s Long Island property.


The new wild loosens up the overly maintained gardens of Vancouver Island homes and introduces design moves to create cultivated, relaxed and luxurious plantings .


Louise will cover meadows, rambling roses, drought tolerant plants, ferneries, stumperies, the works! This talk will be of interest to everyone, from the beginner gardener to the Ph.D. designer.


Louise Boutin is a Landscape Architect and garden designer. She designs gardens locally and internationally, lately an 18th century Mas in Provence and the Canadian Garden at the 2016-2017 International horticultural Exposition in Tangshan, China. She recently taught a course at the University of British Columbia titled ' Stanley Park 2020 ' featuring parks of the future.


The event will be informative, interactive, and fun with refreshments and plant door prizes. Tickets are $10, and all monies raised support the Friends of the Sidney/North Saanich Library. Tickets may be purchased at the library.
