This year is the 60th annual Salmon BBQ at the community hall. It is a real people event, where families and friends come together. The meal includes community made potato salad, pickled beets, bean salad, a bun, watermelon, and of course, the fabulous barbecued wild salmon. The event has become a mini music festival, featuring musicians - professional and amateur, established and rising stars.
The beer garden under the maple tree is a popular destination, and there is a raffle of wonderful island gifts and services, all donated from island businesses to support this fundraiser for our island community hall.
