Victoria�s 1st annual funny Women Festival celebrates funny women with two evenings of fierce funny females performing stand-up, character, music and dance!

Friday Feb. 21: stand-up, music and dance from Carilynn Nicholson, Lenore Lemay, Justine Drummond, Maxine Fisher, Jay McLaughlin, Natalie North, Ana de Lara, Busty Buskers, Kirsten Van Ritzen and headliner Melanie Rose (Vancouver) a rising star known as the tie-dye comedian, she uses humour to promote mental health awareness http://www.melanierose.ca

Saturday Feb.22: stand-up and character acts from Pat Schandl, Louise!, Shelley Suzuki, Nancy Mergen, Joy Huebert, Romina Miranda, Karen Brelsford.
Featuring: Rachel Sommer (Winnipeg) comic by night, mild-mannered optometrist by day, Dr. Sommer has been spreading both laughter and improved eyesight around Manitoba. www.rachelsommer.ca

FUNNY WOMEN FESTIVAL is presented by Broad Theatrics, the theatre company behind the popular comedy show SIN CITY THE LIVE IMPROVISED SERIAL. Artistic producer Kirsten Van Ritzen is an actor and comedienne, and the Executive Producer of SHE KILLS ME, the TV series starring female comics taped live in Victoria now broadcast on APTN Wednesday nights (check local listings). www.aptn.ca/shekillsme

LADIES WHO LUNCH on Sunday, Feb .23 from 1-3pm The Festival wraps with a hangover/networking brunch for the comics, Women in the Arts who Get Things Done, friends, fans, and family. An informal event that includes coffee, juice and brunch. Tickets $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
