Auntie Kate and the Uncles of Funk - Victoria "Auntie Kate hits the stage like a barely controlled force of nature, rocking and kicking out a powerful blues routine honed in the clubs of Western Canada. Originally from Saltspring Island, but calling Victoria, or anywhere she is performing, home, she is a charismatic singer with a style all her own." The South Island Rhythm Kings - Nanaimo "SIRKs led by harmonica wizz Mike Mallon are a staple of the blues scene on this island. Regular performers at the Nanaimo Blues Festival, Mike and his son Carson Mallon are among the most authentic blues performers in Canada. Carson has made an extensive study of the blues stylings of the 50' and 60's Chicago scene, and Mike can groove with the best. Along with a solid rhythm section, they will have toes tapping from the offset and dancing is recommended." Tickets are $20 dollars (plus applicable taxes and fees) available at the Queens, and at Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca 555841776717
