6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

About 25 million AIDS sufferers live in Africa so, when parents die of HIV, the grandmothers take over the children. It is a very dire situation indeed as these elderly women usually have few resources and often many grandchildren to feed, clothe and send to school.

To help these old ladies, funds raised at our supper-concert will be channelled to them through the Stephen Lewis Foundation via the Nan-Go Grannies, a local group of grandmothers who have dedicated themselves to raising money to help their overseas counterparts.

In addition to Myc (pronounced "Mike") Sharratt, a goodly number of nanaimo's talented singer/musicians will be sharing their talents as well. They include Coast Salish drummer-singer Tom Jones (bet you didn't know HE performed native chants!), King of the Oldies Jack Jantzen, Windweaver's guitar-North American flute combo Terry Mack and Paul Bezooyen., world musician in the folk/jazz/world fusion vein Zlatko Zvekic and others so come one, come all!

Admission to this event is $10.00 per person or $20.00 including supper. A tasty variety of foods will be available at this low price. Alternatively, you can simply pay your $10.00 entry fee and choose from the usual tempting variety of foods, both sweet and savoury that the Vault offers, along with its selections of drinks, hot and cold.
