Archives Lecture – British Columbia and the Victorian Photographic Album: Windows on the World and Our Place Within It – Don Bourdon
Queen Victoria had over 100 albums – and British Columbians and other visitors to the Northwest in the 19th century documented their family and travels in the same way. Don will examine some of the most interesting examples in the BC Archives collection.
Don Bourdon is Curator of Images and Paintings at the Royal BC Museum. He has worked continuously in the archives field since the 1970s, particularly in access, collections development and preservation management and has a broad knowledge of photographic technology and the history of “making” and “taking” photographs.
The lecture will be preceded by a 30 minute Annual General Meeting at 2:00 pm. All welcome. This lecture is FREE.
