For the Love of Art, for the Joy of It! Art Show

11 local artists will share their passion, inspiration and their joyful recent artwork. Approximately 70 paintings will be displayed ranging in size and styles, with small paintings as well as artists cards are part of the show.

All these artists have had their work shown in galleries on the island and in the Vancouver area before. Most are members for the Federation of Canadian Artists and or of the Nanaimo Artists Group and are actively involved in several local artists groups and shows, such as the Nanaimo Art Walk and Art of the Avenue in Ladysmith. Many have won awards for their artwork at various juried shows in the past few years.

These 11 artists are companions on a journey of discovery, with a continual exploration of their preferred medium. This group shares a love of art, shares the joy of connecting with the world around them. They express themselves in diverse styles and approach so be prepared for a variety of artwork. They are storytellers, capturing joyful moments or unravelling a story in bright colors, or are inspired by our beautiful island.

There will be at least one member of the group present at the gallery everyday and often that artist will be painting, sketching or drawing, for your viewing pleasure. Artists love to talk about their inspiration, their techniques and their journey as artists.

So please make sure to ask questions and engage with the artist on site. they have in common is the strong connection to life, to the island, to all that is precious and beautiful. Their art is a way to connect, to share and to celebrate. Whether you just want to have a look, have a conversation with an artist, please come to the gallery and share a moment of joy and discovery with us.
