fOLk arT MonSteR DolL WorKsHop Isle of the Arts Wednesday, Apr 6 | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre Come for a day of play as we create Monster Dolls, full of personality and unique charm!

Inspiration can be gathered from kids drawings, your favourite vintage fabrics or embellishment, the more sentimental the better! Even if you don’t have an artistic bone, if you can rip & tear fabric, operate a sewing machine (straight lines optional), & want to have FuN this course will bring out the artist in you!

Inspired by all things vintage and whimsical, and all things art Jennifer starting her creations nearly 20 years ago, sharing her love of the arts with her Mother, Sister & family… Of course growing up on Gabriola, Isle of the Arts, and the islands many artists gave her a very strong community to persue her creativity. Working in all mediums she is drawn to “handmade” items and always exploring new creations that that carry sentimental meanings.

Jennifer is so excited to share her creative process with you! Required Materials: Scissors, pencil, pins, sewing machine, thread, scraps, embellishments. New, antique, or repurposed lace, ribbons, rickrack, tulle, or anything that has special meaning. Fabric: salvaged scraps, clothing, new material—it doesn’t need to match, polka dots and stripes are great!
